Job summary

Bloom Energy is seeking a Sustaining Product Design and Supplier Development Engineer to advance reliability, manufacturability, and cost reductions. You will lead cross‑functional projects with engineering, quality, and manufacturing, and coordinate transitions to contract manufacturers with clear milestones.

A strong SolidWorks background and CAD vault experience are essential, along with travel readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• SolidWorks CAD modeling experience is required.
• Experience with revision control using a CAD vault tool (e.g., SolidWorks Vault) is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and self-motivation are essential.
• Willingness to travel overseas 30–50%.
• Experience with ECN/Agile processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

Sustaining Product Design and Supplier Development Engineer – HB Engineering

Location: San Jose, CA. Fully on‑site role, 5 days a week.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Sustain product development for reliability improvement, design for manufacturing, and cost reduction.
• Interact with quality groups to identify field reliability issues, drive root‑cause analysis, and design or implement changes to mitigate failures.
• Meet with manufacturing and support design changes to improve manufacturability, driving testing and implementation.
• Design, validate, and implement product cost‑reduction changes.
• Lead technical design transfer to contract manufacturers and suppliers, meeting established milestones for production release.
• Drive process development and improvement to manufacturability, incorporating lessons learned.
• Address capacity and design‑for‑manufacturing issues with suppliers and engineers.
• Provide engineering solutions to challenging design and manufacturing problems for suppliers and internal engineering.

Salary Range: $134,500.00 – $193,500.00.
