Job description

Position: Senior Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing
Location: Fremont, CA
Type: Full‑time, On‑site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, build, test, and launch of proprietary Bloom Energy manufacturing equipment.
• Lead design and supplier management of novel, fully custom automation systems for Bloom’s manufacturing process.
• Lead and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of Bloom equipment.
• Collaborate with process and design teams to define equipment specifications.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to automation and process design.
• Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Engineering teams to refine product design and improve manufacturability.
• Oversee the entire equipment development lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing.
• Oversee equipment build and test processes.Ensure equipment quality assurance throughout development and implementation.
• Work with facility and maintenance engineers to install and support equipment in the factory.

Minimum Qualifications

• BSc or advanced degree in mechanical, physics or related engineering field.
• 4+ years of experience in equipment design, automation, and integration in high volume manufacturing and/or scale up.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
• Experience with supplier management and remote team collaboration.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 15%.
• Familiar with process engineering fundamentals (Cp, CpK, etc.) and SPC.
• Working proficiency in SolidWorks.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in high‑volume solar, back‑end semiconductor and/or battery manufacturing machine design and process design.
• Experience with handling thin ceramics.
• Experience with dispensing and jetting of engineered inks and adhesives.
• C++ knowledge is a plus.

Salary

$98,400.00 – $141,600.00 per year, based on relevant skills and experience.
