Job summary

GE Aerospace Lynn Advanced Programs is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead mechanical design and development of hot structures components. You will work with a team of engineers to assess tradeoffs, solve challenging problems, and drive engineering outcomes.

Mentoring teammates and guiding design decisions will be key parts of the role. The position focuses on designing hot structures, leveraging ANSYS and 3D modeling tools, and collaborating across organizations to advance propulsion technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in a mechanical design role.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze hot structures with limited guidance following engineering principles and standards.
• Develop expertise in hot structures and integration with adjacent hardware.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor others on the team.
• Lead small to medium projects balancing design, interfaces and resources.
• Present or review technical and program status with customers.
