Job summary

GE Aerospace, Lynn AP, is recruiting for a Hot Structures Design Manager to lead a small team in mechanical design and development of hot structures for a next‑gen product. You will guide IPT efforts across engineering disciplines and manage design life cycles, including analysis, manufacturing support and testing.

The role emphasizes developing people, collaboration, and ensuring on‑time reviews while balancing program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in relevant design engineering position.
• Must obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hot structures design, analysis, and test using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and influence outcomes balancing input from cross functional teams and design requirements.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and engineering judgment to solve complex tasks or problems across engineering, project management, or manufacturing.
• Share specialized knowledge in hot structures design or relevant mechanical design experience.
• Assess internal and external business challenges associated with hot structures design and overall program.
• Lead daily management activities and develop action plans as needed to respond to issues/problems.
• Serve as the IPT lead for the hot structures. Prepare and present module design reviews with internal and external customers.
