Job summary
Mercer Engineering Research Center in Warner Robins, GA, seeks a Staff Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to support its Aircraft Directorate. You will perform structural analysis, fatigue and fracture assessment, and data-driven life prediction. Responsibilities include CAD modeling, data package development for repair designs, and planning laboratory load tests with instrumentation.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance are required; ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical or Aerospace
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- ABET-accredited Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree required.
- DoD security clearance eligibility is needed.
Responsibilities
- Analyze airframe structures using standard engineering principles, supported by finite element analysis as needed.
- Perform fatigue and fracture analysis of airframe components.
- Analyze flight data to support regime recognition and remaining useful life estimation.
- CAD modeling and development of technical data packages for repair design and analysis.
- Design laboratory load tests and instrumentation to validate repair designs and structural models.
