Job summary

Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), a Mercer University research institute, seeks a Senior Draftsperson in Warner Robins, GA to deliver CAD drawings and models for the engineering staff. You will use SolidWorks and AutoCAD, following ASME-Y14 and MIL-STD standards, and ensure drawings are released accurately.

Requirements include US citizenship, ability to obtain DoD clearance, and 9 years of related CAD drafting experience.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Formal training or certification and 9 years of directly related experience with ASME-Y14.100, ASME-Y14.24, ASME-Y14.35, and ASME-Y14.34, MIL-STD-31000, IEEE, ANSI.
  • Experience creating part and assembly models and fabrication drawings via CAD systems (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Experience creating 2D drawings/blueprints for fabrication in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop engineering models and drawings.
  • Prepares drawings IAW MERC standard processes and related ASME/MIL/IEEE standards.
  • Coordinates and develops engineering drawings, including schematics and parts lists.
  • Assists in establishing drafting standards and PDM workflow.
  • Approves engineering drawings for release and supports other drafting personnel.
  • Identifies potential business opportunities during customer contacts and reports to the Director of Acquisition Strategy.
