Job summary

Boston Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer in Massachusetts to help build and optimize development plant manufacturing systems for predictable production outputs.

You will collaborate across Quality, Test, and OPM teams to resolve blocking production issues and drive improvements. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, strong CAD/DFM/DFA skills, and experience with Lean Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, process development, or advanced manufacturing, preferably in robotics or complex electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing processes and assembly workflows for Atlas motors, actuators, and subassemblies, from prototype through low-volume production.
• Collaborate with Hardware Engineering to provide DFM/DFA input for manufacturability and serviceability.
• Design, fabricate, and validate fixtures, tools, and jigs for assembly, alignment, and testing of motors and actuators.
• Define assembly sequences, SOPs, and training materials for assembly technicians.
• Support prototype builds, troubleshoot issues, and drive corrective actions to improve processes and designs.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma to improve efficiency and yield.
