Job summary

Elbit Systems of America, LLC is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to lead the establishment of a new greenfield munitions facility. The role oversees AI&T production lines for Class 3 UAVs and air-to-ground missiles, including warhead integration.

You will shape facility and production system design, ensuring safe, efficient, and scalable operations, and drive readiness for initial production and subsequent rate increases with senior leadership collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a technical discipline; typically 14+ years of aerospace/defense manufacturing experience.
• Experience developing or improving assembly and production processes.
• Ability to work across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, facilities, and program organizations.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced greenfield environment with evolving systems and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication; communicate risks to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead greenfield facility and production line development for AI&T of Class 3 UAVs and missiles.
• Develop manufacturing concepts, layouts, and capacity to support initial production and ramp.
• Define equipment, tooling, fixtures, and test infrastructure; support qualification and sourcing.
• Drive process capability, defect reduction, yield improvement, and cycle-time reduction.
• Collaborate with Operations, Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities, EHS, and Program Management.
• Establish Lean principles, visual management, standard work, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop training and certification requirements for production personnel.
• Assist with risk assessments, PFMEAs, safety reviews, and readiness assessments.
