Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement manufacturing methods, improve process flows, and support new product introductions from design to production.

This role offers hands-on experience, collaboration with design and production teams, and opportunities to influence cost, time standards, and lean initiatives while working in a quality-focused aerospace/defense environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with CAD tools. i.e., Solid Works
• Knowledge of basic electronic and mechanical assembly principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Understanding of statistical and mathematical concepts including probability, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Familiarity with manufacturing standards and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing manufacturing methods, process flows, and operational sequences.
• Design and develop tools and fixtures to accommodate production build processes.
• Work closely with the design team to coordinate the release of new products and ensure smooth transitions to manufacturing.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards, and recommend tooling and process improvements.
• Create and update manufacturing work instructions and standard procedures.
• Collaborate with various team members including design, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, procurement, quality, and inspection.
• Conduct routine analysis related to labor standards, production flow, and lean cost reduction efforts.
• Aid in establishing and maintaining a 5S work environment throughout the facility.
• Participate with maintaining environmental, health and safety (EHS) standards.
