Job summary

Angi is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to transform its data science and product capabilities into scalable ML solutions. You will lead model development for homeowner-pro search ranking, build robust MLOps, and collaborate closely with platform teams to deploy models at scale with low latency.

You will drive evaluation frameworks and champion end-to-end ML lifecycle practices, including data versioning, feature stores, CI/CD, and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field is required.
• 6+ years of experience in data science and ML, preferably in tech/marketplace environments.
• Hands-on experience post-training and self-hosting open-weight LLMs (e.g., fine-tuning, quantization, serving infra such as vLLM)
• Strong understanding of evaluation metrics across DL and ML and how to design regression-free tests.
• End-to-end MLOps lifecycle expertise: data versioning, feature stores, CI/CD for ML, monitoring, retraining.
• Knowledge of large-scale distributed architecture, design, implementation and performance tuning.
• Ability to drive the roadmap and communicate with Product & Engineering teams.
• Proficiency in ML algorithms for search systems, information retrieval, ranking.
• Proficient in SQL, Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced ML/AI models to improve marketplace algorithms like search ranking and matching.
• Design and implement robust MLOps for seamless deployment and scalable inference, including self-hosted LLMs.
• Define rigorous evaluation frameworks for DL/ML systems and conduct online experiments (A/B tests).
• Collaborate with engineers, ML infra, data scientists and product managers to ship end-to-end solutions.
• Develop a long-term technical vision and roadmaps for scalable ML capabilities.
• Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
