Job summary

Angi is seeking an exceptional Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Data Science and Machine Learning team, playing a pivotal role in transforming our platform into a world-class online marketplace. This position involves tackling complex challenges such as homeowner-pro search ranking and leveraging predictive models to enhance our product and consumer experience.

The ideal candidate will apply state-of-the-art machine learning and AI techniques to solve Angi’s marketplace problems,

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (CS, stats, math)
• 4+ years of data science and ML experience in tech/ marketplace
• Hands-on experience self-hosting open-weight LLMs (finetuning, quantization, vLLM, SGLang)
• Strong knowledge of evaluation metrics for DL and ML and how to design evaluation strategies
• End-to-end MLOps lifecycle: data versioning, feature stores, CI/CD for ML, monitoring, retraining
• Proficient in SQL, Python, TensorFlow and PyTorch with solid coding skills
• Excellent communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead development of ML/AI models to improve marketplace algorithms (ranking, matching).
• Design robust MLOps and deployment for scalable models with low latency.
• Define evaluation frameworks for offline/online metrics and LLm evaluation.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, PMs to deploy data-driven solutions.
• Help shape long-term technical vision and product roadmap.
• Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing.
