Job summary

Early Warning Services LLC is seeking a Staff Engineer with deep Java/SpringBoot and AWS experience to lead the design, development, and deployment of complex, scalable systems. This role emphasizes architectural leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering business-critical software.

You will drive technical strategy, own features end-to-end, and mentor engineers while partnering with product and operations teams to ensure reliable, secure solutions in a hybrid work environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field.
• Eight+ years of relevant related experience.
• Seven+ years in development of distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, micro services.
• Six+ years of work experience with Java/Spring.
• Proficiency in Maven/Gradle.
• Experience delivering business-critical systems to the market.
• Ability to influence and work in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience designing/developing scalable systems.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Working experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum/LEAN, DevOps practices.
• Background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Build technical strategy for broad or complex requirements with forward-looking approaches.
• Participate in strategic development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
• Drive architecture, design, prototyping and implementation for product needs and technology strategy.
• Lead backlog creation and ensure execution from design to production delivery.
• Guide a broad functional area and coordinate with team members in planning.
• Represent engineering in cross-functional sessions and persuasively present arguments.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering groups to build features.
• Own features or systems and define long-term health of systems.
• Assist support and operations in identifying and resolving production issues.
• Develop and implement tests for quality, performance, scalability.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Support risk management and data confidentiality.
