Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale healthcare platforms. This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver highly available, secure, scalable applications that support millions of customers.

As a Staff Engineer, you will partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Operations, and Engineering teams to build innovative solutions

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software development in large-scale distributed environments.
7+ years of Java application development with modern Java ecosystem frameworks.
5+ years of Java/Spring Boot development and cloud initiatives with CI/CD.

Responsibilities

Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions that meet requirements and quality standards.
Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
Provide input on performance, feasibility, and scalability to meet objectives.
Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and quality guidelines.
Coordinate with team members for alignment and technical decisions.
Adopt best practices and new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
Share knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops to foster learning.
Work with developers to implement complex features and ensure high-quality code.
Mentor junior developers to grow their skills.
