Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a hands-on staff-level engineer to lead multi-quarter architectural initiatives for production data platforms at scale. You will drive architecture for IR data systems, focusing on pre-processing, routing, and delivery orchestration, with deep experience in geospatial data and MLOps.

This role sits in a hybrid setup with on-site work in Denver, CO three days per week. You will mentor engineers, define standards, and collaborate with Product, PM, and Business Development to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years or MS with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Technical leadership on production data platforms at scale.
• Experience designing/operating production data pipelines on AWS with modern workflow orchestrators.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural design for multi-mission IR data systems in partnership with Principal Software Engineer.
• Lead design/implementation of capabilities for IR missions from framing to rollout and hand-off.
• Set direction for geospatial data storage, cataloging, and serving at scale.
• Build MLOps foundations for derived IR products including model packaging and experiment tracking.
• Raise the bar on code standards, testing, observability, and reliability.
