Job summary

Slack is seeking a Staff iOS Developer Experience Engineer to advance the iOS DevXP tooling and AI-powered workflows that power the Slack iOS app used by millions daily. You will mentor and grow other iOS engineers, set a high bar for design and code quality, and own the engineering outcomes across Slack’s iOS codebase in a fast-paced environment.

Expect deep work on Bazel-based builds, Swift, Python tooling, and integration of AI agents to automate PR generation, code reviews, and boilerplate

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in iOS tooling or DevXP domains.
• Proven ability to mentor and grow junior engineers.
• Strong ownership across large iOS codebases and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the iOS DevXP team to build scalable, AI-powered developer tooling for Slack’s iOS app.
• Mentor engineers, raise code quality, and drive architectural decisions across the iOS toolchain.
• Triage complex issues (e.g., Bazel cache misses) and champion reliable, observable CI/CD workflows.
