Job summary

Optomi seeks a Staff Infrastructure Software Engineer to help build the next generation of its hybrid cloud infrastructure platform, focusing on networking, control planes, and platform APIs for private data centers.

You will shape architecture and collaborate with deeply technical engineers to modernize legacy infra, improve reliability, and deliver cloud-like capabilities across compute, storage, and networking in private data centers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Deep networking expertise and understanding of how networking systems operate under the hood.
• Experience with distributed systems design and implementation.
• Proficiency with Go, Java, Python, Rust, or C++ and Linux-based environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes networking and platform internals; SDN and service mesh familiarity.

Responsibilities

Staff Infrastructure Software Engineer (Networking, Distributed Systems, Kubernetes, Control Plane) - 100% Remote

Optomi, in partnership with a leading transportation and logistics organization, is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Software Engineer to join a growing team that is building the next generation of its hybrid cloud infrastructure platform. This team is focused on modernizing legacy infrastructure while delivering cloud-like capabilities across compute, storage, and networking within private data centers.

The ideal candidate is a software engineer with deep networking expertise who understands how networking systems operate under the hood and can build the platforms, services, and automation that manage them at scale.

You will help design and develop networking infrastructure services, control planes, orchestration capabilities, and platform APIs that enable modern hybrid cloud operations.

Success in this role requires the ability to understand existing systems at a deep technical level, identify opportunities for modernization, and build scalable software solutions that improve reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.
