Team

This position reports to the Director, Security Engineering. The Enterprise Security Engineering team focuses on building state-of-the-art technology that helps reduce risks surrounding the company's sensitive assets with minimal operational impact. They act as guidance and facilitators for the security operations teams and help shift security perception from blocker to enabler by building trust with other teams.

Role

The Staff Information Security Engineer will help secure ServiceNow’s infrastructure by designing and deploying security solutions across the network, server, authentication, and certificate ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with infrastructure and cloud engineering teams to embed security best practices and build scalable, automated defenses.

What you get to do in this role:
  1. Implement controls that secure networks and servers from unauthorized access and malicious activity.
  2. Collaborate with platform and SRE teams to harden infrastructure and improve service resilience.
  3. Deploy secure container configurations and integrate security into Kubernetes environments.
  4. Contribute to the management and automation of the certificate lifecycle.
  5. Enforce secure authentication mechanisms, least privilege access, and passwordless initiatives.
  6. Build monitoring and detection capabilities that reduce response times and prevent outages.
  7. Contribute to threat modeling, security reviews, and compliance assessments.
  8. Automate routine security operations and reporting to reduce manual effort.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot security and infrastructure issues.
  • Managing directory services and access management solutions.
  • Familiarity with WebAuthN and FIDO2.
  • Experience in working with Splunk and SPL (or other SIEM/Log management systems).
  • Experience in working with cryptography (PKI, TLS, VPNs, secure credential management, disk encryption, certificate and code signing).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Puppet and Ansible to automate system hardening and policy enforcement.
  • Automating operations and capacity planning.
  • System performance tuning and service monitoring.
  • System and software debugging experience with strong troubleshooting skills.
