Job summary

BlackLine Systems Inc is seeking a Sr. Staff II Engineer to design, develop and scale cloud-based backend services. You will mentor engineers, drive automation and ensure secure, maintainable code across releases.

Strong CS fundamentals and distributed systems experience are required; familiarity with AI-assisted development is a plus. You will collaborate in a fast-paced SaaS environment with emphasis on performance and quality, owning critical components and guiding best practices.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science with 5+ years’ experience.
• 7+ years building Web Apps, SaaS, RESTful APIs.
• Experience using AI-powered coding assistants to accelerate development and automation.
• Strong SQL knowledge, data models, transactions.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, SOA, and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver features while meeting timelines and quality.
• Enforce software development practices for performance, security and maintainability.
• Maintain high quality and mentor junior developers.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive changes with peers and leadership.
• Perform maintenance, deployment and release support, including off-hours.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver value and continuously improve.
• Promote automation, unit testing and process improvements.
• Stay curious and actively learn new technologies.
