Job summary

Stack AV is seeking a Hardware Engineer to own the electrical distribution system (EDS) and wiring harness design for autonomous vehicle platforms. You will translate system requirements into robust power, grounding, and signal architectures, and carry the design through schematic definition, 3D packaging, release, build, validation, and production support.

The ideal candidate will be located in Pittsburgh, PA with regular onsite presence at the New Stanton, PA site.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 5+ years in electrical distribution system or wiring harness experience; 8+ years for staff level.
• Experience taking harnesses from requirements through release and production support.
• Expertise with EDS architecture, wire sizing, grounding, and connectors.
• Proficiency with ECAD/MCAD tools and PLM systems.
• Familiarity with CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, J1939, EMI/EMC practices.

Responsibilities

• Own EDS and wiring harness architecture, including power distribution and network interfaces.
• Develop and release schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings; manage BOMs and installation docs.
• Perform wire sizing, voltage drop, and grounding analyses for low and high voltage circuits.
• Collaborate with systems, electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Lead design reviews, interface definitions, and change control from concept to production.
• Define harness verification and validation plans including EMI/EMC and vehicle-level testing.
