Job summary

deepsightinc is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in GPU Algorithms to help build our ultrasound imaging platform. You will develop and optimize GPU-based beamforming, image formation, and signal processing using C++ and CUDA.

This role requires a strong background in ultrasound, medical imaging, and concurrent programming, with collaboration across systems and hardware teams to deliver real-time, high-quality imaging solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or computer science
• Familiarity with ultrasound physics and signal/image processing
• Strong object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns
• Proficiency with C++
• Experience with concurrent/parallel programming and GPU acceleration (CUDA/CuPy/Numba/OpenCL/Halide)
• Familiar with source control, CI and automated unit testing
• Passionate about medical devices and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced beamforming techniques to enhance spatial resolution and image quality.
• Design algorithms for image enhancement, noise reduction, edge detection, and speckle reduction.
• Develop algorithms to reconstruct 2D/3D ultrasound images from data, including interpolation and geometry transforms.
• Create algorithms for feature extraction and segmentation in ultrasound images.
• Implement motion compensation through registration and motion estimation.
• Explore ML/AI methods to improve image analysis and assist interpretation.
• Collaborate with systems/hardware teams to optimize data acquisition, processing, and display.
• Implement solutions using C++ and CUDA.
