Job description

Relocation assistance may be available.

Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

Essential Functions
  • Design, develop, implement, verify, and test algorithms, software, and simulation tools for guidance, navigation, and control (GNC).
  • Develop control laws to meet air vehicle performance, flying qualities, and stability margin requirements, both on the ground and in flight.
  • Develop air vehicle system linear and non‑linear dynamic simulation models and integrate them into software and hardware‑in‑the‑loop simulation environments.
  • Develop analysis to support design reviews at different stages in a development program (e.g., PDR, CDR).
  • Analyze air vehicle flight test data and support flight test activities.
  • Attend or present at internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in a STEM discipline and 12 years of experience in design and integration of equipment, or Master’s in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience in design and integration of equipment.
  • Active In‑Scope DoD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Active In‑Scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Supplier Management Team (SMT) experience.
  • Experience working with diverse technical teams and leading others.
  • Knowledge of design, analysis and/or engineering tools development.
  • Proficiency with typical office toolsets such as Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience on a diverse team of GNC engineers on a development program.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and autocoding Simulink models.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication, analysis, and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a multi‑disciplinary team environment.
  • Current active DoD Top Secret clearance (with background investigation completed within the last 5 years or under continuous evaluation).
  • Knowledge of C/C++, Java, and Python.
  • Knowledgeable in flight sciences, control law development, and control system analysis.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience writing/reviewing technical documents such as CDRLs, SSOWs, SRDs, ICDs, and SDRL reviews.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex technical solutions within cost and schedule constraints across the various phases of the engineering lifecycle.
Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and current market conditions may influence the final offer.
