Job summary

Lucid Motors in Michigan is seeking a Staff Global Supply Chain Manager for Raw Materials to own the end-to-end global supply chain for flat roll materials used in stamping. You will build and sustain relationships with mills and distributors worldwide, guiding sourcing of aluminum and steel across manufacturing sites.

The role requires leadership, data analysis, supplier qualification, and negotiation of contracts, with travel 15-25% to supplier locations for reviews and program milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering, preferably automotive metal industry, with at least 4 years in Raw Material (Flat Roll Steel and Aluminum).
• Product launch experience and knowledge of quality principles, product development processes, and data analysis.
• Experience sourcing from a global supply base, especially raw material mills and distributors.
• Proficiency with Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent), Jira, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality teams to source raw materials, focusing on aluminum and steel.
• Lead the directed buy sourcing strategy amongst multiple tiers in Aluminum & Steel space.
• Identify new avenues in vehicle sourcing, direct raw material sourcing, lead qualification and pricing negotiation with suppliers.
• Evaluate suppliers for technical capability, process reliability, environmental responsibility, and compliance.
• Develop, manage, and issue RFQs; negotiate supplier quotations to balance cost, lead-time, quality, and sustainability.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts for material purchases (pricing, delivery terms, logistics, inventory management, and technical collaboration).
• Leverage demand forecasts to ensure suppliers maintain adequate manufacturing capacity.
• Develop and implement VAVE ideas.
• Coordinate material releases and production schedules, issuing POs and monitoring supply for all project phases.
• Support supplier development initiatives and oversee material delivery timelines for prototype builds and production launches.
• Troubleshoot delays and proactively drive solutions to keep production on track.
• Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and geopolitical risks affecting raw material supply; develop contingency plans as needed.
• Travel 15-25% to supplier locations for business and program reviews.

As the Staff Global Supply Chain Manager for Raw Materials, you will be owning the global E2E supply chain of all Flat roll Materials for Lucid stamping needs. You’ll foster and sustain relationships with raw material mills and distributors worldwide, ensuring our supply base in all manufacturing locations & supports ongoing vehicle program growth. This role demands leadership, innovative thinking, data analytical skills and technical expertise in vendor and new product development, especially for metallic raw materials and alloys. You will develop and execute global supply strategies for aluminum and steel, support qualifying suppliers that meet Lucid's stringent standards for quality, ethics, and sustainability.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
