Job description

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is currently seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to support our geostructural design group in our office in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide variety of exciting projects.

Staff Geotechnical Engineer Responsibilities

  • Subsurface investigations including borings and test pits, reviewing exploration logs, lab results, and plans
  • Support senior staff in design and preparation of plans for retaining walls and support of excavation structures
  • Perform engineering calculations, including settlement, bearing capacity, lateral earth pressures, slope stability, etc. under the observation of senior staff.
  • Preparation of reports and plans
  • Provide support to construction materials testing and observations group

Staff Geotechnical Engineer Job Requirements

  • AS Degree in Engineering (or related field) required
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) preferred
  • E.I.T. preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • CADD experience preferred
  • Experience with slope stability and retaining wall design software preferred
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office applications
