Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Staff Geologist to support Nevada exploration projects, performing field and technical programs to advance targets and objectives. The role involves drilling support, logging, sampling, mapping, data management, and interpretation to support decision-making.

Under supervision of senior staff, you will ensure safety, data quality, and timely reporting while contributing to target development and project advancement in remote field environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Willingness to operate 4WD vehicles; valid driver's license.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• No industry experience required; 2-3 years mining/exploration preferred.
• Exposure to economic geology via industry experience or academics.
• Experience with geological data analysis, GIS, databases, or coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate field safety leadership during drilling, sampling, mapping, and exploration activities.
• Identify hazards and mitigate risks on field operations, including core handling and vehicle operation.
• Assist with drilling support, geological mapping, sampling, and field data collection.
• Perform geological logging of drill core and RC chips, including lithology and mineralization.
• Maintain QA/QC and chain-of-custody for samples and data.
• Coordinate with contractors, technicians, surveyors, and logistics staff.
• Prepare logs, maps, cross-sections, and technical summaries for internal use.
