Job summary

Republic Services in Phoenix seeks a Staff Engineer – GenAI to design, build, and maintain a large-scale enterprise AI platform enabling autonomous, AI-driven solutions across the business. The role focuses on hands-on leadership, architecture, and fielding GenAI capabilities with strong emphasis on reliability, governance, and integration with enterprise data sources.

You will mentor engineers, set coding and prompt engineering standards, collaborate with architects, and drive GenAI lifecycle

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing and deploying enterprise-scale solutions.
• Hands-on GenAI/LLM experience and enterprise architecture exposure.
• Experience with prompt engineering, context engineering, RAG and agent patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of the enterprise’s Agentic AI platform.
• Provide technical direction on GenAI projects across the organization.
• Lead by example in coding standards, prompt engineering, and context pipelines.
• Build internal frameworks and orchestration pipelines to integrate LLMs and agents with enterprise data sources.
• Drive CI/CD, observability, guardrails, and evals for GenAI systems.
• Mentor team members in advanced GenAI techniques.
