Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Staff Fullstack Engineer for the Purchase team. You’ll work across frontend and backend to build interfaces customers use to buy and expand GitLab, and integrate with billing and CRM systems.

You’ll lead technical design for new purchasing capabilities, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Design, Billing, and Support to improve the buying experience. This role is remote with global teams.

Qualifications

• Professional fullstack engineering experience across frontend and backend using Rails and Vue.js.
• Experience owning technical direction for a product area and driving iterative solutions.
• Experience building or maintaining transactional or checkout-style flows, ideally in billing or ecommerce.

Responsibilities

• Design and build fullstack features across the purchase journey.
• Lead technical design for new purchasing capabilities and the unified purchase experience.
• Partner with Product and Design to turn purchasing requirements into resilient solutions.
• Ensure purchase flows integrate with downstream billing and CRM systems.
• Set and uphold engineering standards for code quality and rollout safety.
• Mentor engineers and review merge requests with constructive feedback.
• Identify and reduce technical debt and architectural risk in the purchase experience.
• Participate in incident response for purchase-related issues.
