Job summary
Modern Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own full-stack development across React/React Native frontend and Python back-end services in Care Journey. Translate ambiguous problems into technical plans and drive critical roadmap work with cross-functional teams.
Build GraphQL and REST APIs, mentor engineers, and ensure HIPAA/GDPR compliance while delivering scalable, high-quality member-care experiences.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software development in general-purpose languages.
- 2+ years production experience in full-stack web development with React, JS/TS, React Native, and Python.
- Strong ownership: decompose ambiguous problems and deliver with confidence.
- Experience writing tech specs/RFCs and driving cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience building GraphQL/REST APIs and scaling relational DBs.
Responsibilities
- Full-stack product development with backend lean toward backend.
- Build and maintain GraphQL APIs powered by Python services (Django, Flask).
- Implement web and mobile UIs using React & React Native.
- Write technical plans and own roadmap commitments across teams.
- Mentor engineers and participate in on-call and incident response.
