Job summary

Synopsys, Inc. is seeking a staff software engineer to own a production application used by hardware and prototyping teams.

You will oversee the full stack from React frontend to Node.js backend, ensure build and deployment pipelines, and maintain end-to-end reliability. You will diagnose complex issues, collaborate with hardware and systems teams, and implement robust tests and documentation to reduce risk.

Qualifications

• Own a complex software product end to end across architecture, development, testing, releases and production support.
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, and Node.js in production.
• Navigate and debug code across frontend, backend, databases, scripts and OS without onboarding.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting skills and system-level debugging.
• Diagnose failures involving multiple systems or hardware integrations.
• Experience collaborating with users or cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Experience with Next.js, Tcl, shell scripting, SQLite, or hardware/tool integrations.

Responsibilities

• Own the full technical stack for a production application used by hardware and prototyping teams, including React frontend and Node.js backend.
• Trace and resolve issues across UI, APIs, backend, scripts, databases, and environments.
• Drive feature development from requirements through design, implementation, testing, packaging and release.
• Diagnose customer issues involving remote scanning, hardware communication and multi-system dependencies with users and support teams.
• Coordinate with hardware, systems and engineering teams to clarify requirements and priorities.
• Improve reliability by documenting, building repeatable processes and automated tests.
• Make architectural decisions balancing immediate needs with long-term maintainability.
