Hercules in San Francisco is seeking a senior or staff-level full-stack software engineer to help us build the future of AI software development. You will own features across our stack and ship impactful products for a growing developer audience.

This role demands strong fundamentals in system design, API design, and SaaS, with expertise in TypeScript, React, Postgres, Redis, and Temporal. We value independence, ownership, and a track record of delivering customer-facing features.

Qualifications

• Software fundamentals: system design, architecture, data modeling, and API design
• Code and codebase quality: write clean, maintainable code. Work effectively in monorepos
• Product/design sense: track record of independently shipping lots of features to customers
• SaaS: strong experience with billing (subscriptions, entitlements), identity (OAuth, RBAC, SSO/SAML), product analytics (A/B testing, feature flags), and other popular SaaS features (like i18n, notifications) for large user bases
• Our core stack: TypeScript, React, containers, Postgres, Redis, and Temporal
• AI: able to truly 10x your workflow by being on frontier of AI coding

Responsibilities

• Build and own features across Hercules including our AI Agent, App Builder, Hosting infrastructure, SDK, Platform, and Internal AI coding harness
• Collaborate across teams to ship high-impact SaaS features
• Improve system design, scalability, and reliability of the product
• Contribute to data modeling, API design, and code quality in a monorepo
• Implement AI-powered enhancements to developer workflows
• Participate in security, reliability, and performance reviews
