Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a talented engineer to join the team that builds the consumer web app for Claude. This product engineering role focuses on turning concepts into shipped features with attention to polish, latency, and reliability across desktop and web.

You will work with designers and product managers, own technical direction, collaborate with backend teams, and ship user-friendly experiences for millions of users in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building consumer-facing web products with strong emphasis on UI quality and UX.
• Proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with experience on the backend using Node.js.
• Genuine care for user experience, focusing on latency, performance, and cross-device consistency.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the Claude product and its features.
• Build and ship user-facing features for Claude's web and desktop experience.
• Own the quality bar for latency, responsiveness, and reliability; advocate for UX early in the process.
• Collaborate with product managers to understand user needs, shape feature scope, and make informed tradeoffs.
