Castlight Health is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to shape consumer health experiences. You will design and deploy white-labeled micro-frontends, drive architecture decisions, and deliver fast, polished interfaces across our platforms.

You will work autonomously within an agile team, mastering modern JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks (Angular, React, Vue) to create scalable, high-quality web applications that improve user outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
• Deep mastery of modern JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS/SCSS.
• Expert-level knowledge in Angular or React/Vue with fast adaptation.
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining micro-frontend architectures at scale.
• Strong UX intuition and focus on web performance and usability.
• Autonomous contributor who ships production code quickly.
• Clear communication of architectural decisions to stakeholders.

What You'll Do

Reporting into Engineering Leadership, you will serve as a premier Individual Contributor driving the frontend architecture of our consumer health platforms. You’ll be surrounded with the modern tools and resources you need, given clear ownership, and empowered to operate with maximum speed and impact.

In This Role, You Will

• Architect & Scale: Design, build, and maintain high-performing, white-labeled micro-frontends using Angular, TypeScript, and modern web standards.
• Elevate UX Performance: Polish consumer-facing applications to deliver elite performance, accessibility, and micro-interactions that elevate the overall user experience.
• Drive Weekly Impact: Prioritize ruthlessly in a fast-paced environment, identifying and executing on high-leverage opportunities that move the business and product forward.
• Set Frontend Standards: Serve as a subject matter expert across frontend architectures, establishing best practices for state management, component reusability, and build pipelines.

Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: 8+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience with deep mastery of modern JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS/SCSS.
• Framework Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge in Angular or equivalent deep mastery in modern React/Vue with a proven track record of quick technology adaptation.
• Architecture Experience: Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining micro-frontend architectures and white-label design systems at scale.
• Product & UX Intuition: A sharp eye for UI design details, rendering performance, web vitals, and creating delightful user interactions.
• Autonomous Execution: Strong track record as a high-impact individual contributor who can take ambiguous requirements and ship polished production code quickly.
• Communication: Ability to articulate complex architectural decisions and technical trade-offs to both engineering peers and business stakeholders.

Compensation Range

$131,243.00

to

$196,865.00

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
