Job summary

Jobtailor in New York City is seeking a senior frontend engineer who can own major product experiences end-to-end, from design and frontend architecture through implementation, testing, measurement, and iteration. You will build the web application using TypeScript, React, Shadcn/MUI, and Node.js, and set technical direction for frontend architecture, patterns, and engineering practices.

• 10+ years of experience building complex web applications.
• Deep experience with TypeScript and React.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, API integration, testing, accessibility, performance.
• Experience with component libraries and/or design systems such as Shadcn or MUI.
• Experience deploying production applications on AWS or GCP.
• Infrastructure as code experience, preferably Pulumi.
• Familiarity with network security and protecting production apps.
• Experience with AI development tools.
• Must be able to work onsite in the NYC office; 4 onsite days.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship requirements are assessed.

• Contribute to APIs, data platforms, and infrastructure when appropriate

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building complex software applications, with significant experience building modern web applications
• Deep experience with TypeScript and React
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, API integration, testing, accessibility, performance, and modern web development practices
• Experience with component libraries and/or design systems such as Shadcn or MUI
• Comfortable working across the stack and understanding frontend interactions with APIs, databases, data pipelines, and infrastructure
• Experience deploying production applications and services on AWS or GCP
• Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Pulumi
• Familiarity with network security and protecting production applications
• Experience using modern AI development tools
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Experience with data-intensive applications is a plus
• Must be able to work onsite in the NYC office; application asks about commitment to 2–3 onsite days, while the posting states an expectation of 4 days in office
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship requirements are assessed in the application form
