Job summary

SirenOpt is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead FPGA/MPSoC and DSP system development for its metrology platform in San Leandro, CA. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in high-performance programmable logic, embedded processing, and real‑time signal processing.

You will drive architecture, RTL development, verification, and hardware-software integration, collaborating with a small cross-functional team to deliver scalable, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Strong end-to-end FPGA/MPSoC design experience.
• Real-time DSP and PCB/board bring-up experience.
• Proficient with MATLAB and Python for modeling and analysis.
• Ability to read schematics and debug hardware/firmware.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, and validation of FPGA, MPSoC, and DSP systems for the metrology platform.
• Develop architectures from concept through RTL, modeling, sim, verification, and bench bring-up.
• Build verification environments for timing, performance, and reliability.
• Design DSP pipelines (FIR, synchronization, control loops) and low-latency data paths.
• Implement, evaluate, and refine signal-processing and control algorithms (PID, ADPLL, filtering).
• Use MATLAB and Python for algorithm development and data characterization.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, algorithm, and systems teams for end-to-end integration.
• Read schematics to understand board-level architecture and interfaces.
• Bring up new boards in lab and troubleshoot hardware/firmware issues.
