Job summary

Amigo is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to lead customer deployments from edge to production, shaping architecture and timelines. You will break down complex problems, own delivery, and elevate technical leadership across engineering and product.

You will mentor engineers and balance customer expectations with architectural rigor. You will work on-site in New York City or San Francisco, partnering with customers to ensure scope, timelines, and quality remain honest and achievable.

Qualifications

• Led significant engineering work end to end as a tech lead, staff engineer, or engineering manager.
• Able to translate ambiguous customer needs into clear technical plans with owners and timelines.
• Hands-on with LLMs and agent systems or can reach that level quickly.
• Strong judgment to make tradeoffs and say no when needed.
• Proven ability to lead through architecture, people, or both.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of customer deployments end to end, setting architecture and timelines.
• Break down big problems into team-owned work and drive on-time delivery.
• Mentor and grow engineers while raising the bar for the team.
• Collaborate directly with customers to manage scope, timelines, and quality.
