Job summary

Waymo seeks a Software Reliability Engineer to own the stability of its autonomous systems and supporting infrastructure. You will apply software and systems engineering to build fault-tolerant, scalable services and automate repetitive work to improve release velocity.

As an SRE, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage end-to-end availability for core fleet services, and lead incident response while driving observability and reliability initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience architecting and maintaining mission-critical systems.
• Proven track record leading reliability programs for complex systems.
• Able to influence decision-makers and align multiple teams toward reliability goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as production expert to build reliable systems for autonomous operations.
• Manage end-to-end availability for core fleet services and improve observability.
• Write designs and code to enhance system architecture, telemetry, and deployment.
• Provide technical leadership while addressing complex reliability issues and debt.
• Lead cross-functional collaborations to create reusable components.
• Champion blameless retrospectives and drive continuous improvement.
