Job summary

Waymo is seeking Software Reliability Engineers to ensure the stable operation of the Waymo Driver and its supporting infrastructure. This hybrid role reports to the Tech Lead Manager.

You will collaborate with engineers to build reliable systems for ride-hailing, manage end-to-end availability, and participate in design, deployment, and on-call incident response. You have 2+ years coding in C++, Java and/or Python; interest in distributed systems and production engineering; Bachelor’s degree or

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience writing clean, efficient code in C++, Java and/or Python.
• Interest and enthusiasm for distributed systems, production engineering, and transportation system technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other engineers to build reliable systems for the ride-hailing service, real time communications between cars and offboard infrastructure, and more.
• Manage end-to-end availability and performance by measuring system performance and developing automated solutions.
• Involve in the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
• Write designs and implement software to improve system architecture or telemetry, prevent outages, or reduce MTTR.
• Serve on the on-call incident response team and participate in blameless retrospectives.
