Job summary

DTE Energy is seeking an Intermediate level engineer in Detroit, MI, to independently evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques for asset operation and maintenance. You will work with teams of field staff and engineers to deliver timely solutions, using judgement to adapt and optimize processes.

You will collaborate with experienced professionals, analyze data, build models, and present findings to management within budget and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 2 years of job relevant experience.
• Preferred: Project management or change management experience.
• PowerBI, Minitab, PowerPoint, and/or Excel experience.
• Process change and process improvement experience.
• Leadership experience, either formal or informal.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering assignments, proposing solutions to engineering related problems.
• Works with experienced professionals to implement timely solutions involving routine engineering, design, operation, maintenance of company assets and market optimization.
• Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow‑up and engineering assistance on defined problems within time and budget constraints.
• Develops models and analyzes data to recommend solutions and/or improvements in processes and programs; develops and presents to management and external parties.
• May provide field engineering assistance or technical support.
• Keeps up to date on current technology and market/technology trends.
