Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a Staff or Senior Staff-Level Environmental Professional for our Alameda or San Jose, California office. The role balances field work, site assessments, and office tasks to support environmental projects.

Responsibilities include soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling; borehole logging; air monitoring; data compilation; and report preparation. Candidates should have strong writing and communication skills and familiarity with ASTM standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Current OSHA HAZWOPER training is preferred.
• Experience with fieldwork on environmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field tasks: site reconnaissance, soil and groundwater sampling, borehole logging, and well installation.
• Prepare daily field reports and coordinate subcontractors/vendors.
• Review historical information and environmental databases for reports.
• Assist with report preparation and project documentation.
• Coordinate interviews with site owners/users via phone/email; manage task budgets.

Job description

We have an immediate opening in our Alameda or San Jose, California office for a Staff or Senior Staff-Level Environmental Professional to assist with the following tasks:

• conducting various field tasks comprised of site reconnaissance, soil and groundwater sampling, borehole logging, well installation, air monitoring, coordination and oversight of subcontractor,
• preparing daily field reports;
• various office tasks comprised of data compilation, review and assimilation of historic information and environmental databases,
• assisting with report preparation and other project documents,
• phone/email contact/coordination with subcontractors/vendors,
• phone/email contact related to interviews and discussions with site owner/users, and
• management of tasks and task budgets.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

Certification: Current OSHA HAZWOPER training. Other certifications and registrations a plus.
