Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring a Staff Systems Engineer – Digital Ecosystems to join our Melbourne, FL campus. The role focuses on designing innovative system architectures, defining capabilities and performance requirements, and ensuring alignment with customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of system architectures.
  • Perform architecture, CONOPS, and use‑case development using model‑based systems engineering methodologies.
  • Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Execute system requirements analysis.
  • Develop automated workflow for multi‑disciplined functional processes supporting engineering and business functions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 12 years of related experience, or Master of Science in a STEM discipline with 10 years of related experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience.
  • Maintain final adjudicated U.S. Government Secret clearance (must be in‑scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and obtain any required program access within a reasonable timeframe.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering with experience in Model‑Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture and SysML.
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment.
Compensation & Benefits

Primary level salary range: $152,900.00 – $229,300.00. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives for senior positions. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
