Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the evolution of our product development operating system within the Innovation Center. You will drive enterprise-wide improvements to how products are developed, built, transferred to manufacturing, and commercialized.

You will partner across R&D, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Program Management to establish scalable processes and governance, improving development speed, product quality, and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or a Master’s degree with 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD with 2-4 years experience.
  • Strong foundation in product development, design transfer, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Experience developing and implementing scalable engineering systems, processes, or operating models.

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the evolution of our product development operating system within our Innovation Center. As a highly influential individual contributor, you will drive enterprise-wide improvements to how products are developed, built, transferred to manufacturing, and commercialized.


Partnering across R&D, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Program Management, you will establish scalable engineering processes, governance, and best practices that improve development speed, product quality, manufacturing readiness, and organizational capability.

Where You Come In

Business Process Transformation & Product Development Excellence


  • Develop and continuously improve the organization's business processes from product development concept through commercial launch.

  • Establish standardized processes, governance, and engineering best practices across the Innovation Center.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce development cycle time while improving product quality and manufacturing readiness.

  • Identify systemic inefficiencies and implement scalable process improvements throughout the site


Design Transfer & Manufacturing Readiness


  • Lead initiatives that improve the transition of products from R&D into Operations and high-volume manufacturing.

  • Develop standardized design transfer methodologies, deliverables, and readiness assessments.

  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to improve manufacturability early in product development.

  • Improve collaboration between engineering and operations to minimize post-transfer engineering changes and minimize non-conformances.

  • Communicate effectively across technical and business functions, from engineers to executive leadership.

  • Coach and enable others, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.
