Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer, Product Applications in Durham, NC. You will create customer-facing collaterals, engage with customers on system integration, and deliver technical demonstrations while exploring new applications and markets.

You will own reference designs and collaborate across teams to meet market needs. The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least four years of experience in switching power converters, analog/mixed-signal design, and

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronic Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline, plus four years of experience.
Expertise in design and analysis of switching power converters (buck, boost, flyback, LLC) with efficiency, stability, and transient performance focus.
Control-loop design and compensation techniques (Bode plots, gain/phase margin, crossover) for stable operation.
Analog/mixed-signal design principles including gate-driver design, current-sense, protection, and conditioning.
PCB schematic/layout review for power-stage designs, focusing on high di/dt, ground return, EMI.
EMI/EMC knowledge with mitigations and CISPR standards familiarity.
Electrical lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, loads, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, thermal tools) for validation.
Circuit simulation/modeling with SPICE or SIMPLIS for pre-layout analysis and post-silicon correlation.
Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of power-supply and analog systems.
Technical documentation and communication, including application notes and design guides.

Responsibilities

Create customer-facing collaterals such as design tools, simulation models, and application notes.
Work with customers through system integration, circuit design, optimization, troubleshooting, and testing.
Develop and deliver product/application training and demonstrations for field personnel and customers.
Investigate customer applications and learn new applications across markets.
Own reference designs and support product evaluation and debugging.
Collaborate with marketing, customers, and sales to understand market needs and competitive landscape.
