Job summary

Shield AI seeks a Battery Owner to oversee all aspects of battery systems for X-BAT, including architecture, design, qualification, integration, and production deployment. You will help build a world-class power systems team and drive a vertically integrated battery pack design for reliability and rapid procurement.

You will define the system vision, lead make/buy trades, and mentor engineers while ensuring performance and robust verification in harsh environments.

Qualifications

• Battery power systems experience on large aircraft or equivalent power system.
• 5+ years relevant experience.
• Delivered battery power systems to market.
• Proficient with electrical engineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment.
• Strong technical fundamentals and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the vision of the battery system for X-BAT, the Launch and Recovery Vehicle, and all ground equipment.
• Deploy high voltage batteries (270 V and higher) to support a power system on the order of 100 kW.
• Design, develop, and integrate state-of-the-art high-power systems for harsh environments.
