French & Parrello Associates in Wall Township, NJ, seeks a Staff Engineer to join our Municipal Services team. This entry-level civil engineer will assist in planning, design, and permitting for municipal infrastructure projects, supporting project delivery and client communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 0–2 years of experience in municipal, civil/site, transportation, or infrastructure engineering.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and engineering design software.
• Understanding of municipal infrastructure design principles and applicable codes and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and prep of engineering plans, specs, reports, and cost estimates for municipal projects.
• Perform calculations related to grading, stormwater, drainage, water distribution, sanitary sewers, and roadways.
• Prepare permit applications and coordinate with agencies.
• Support PMs in delivery, scheduling, budgeting, and client communications.
• Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observations as needed.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software to prepare design documents.
• Assist in technical reports, feasibility studies, and grant applications.
• Coordinate with environmental, transportation, geotech, landscape, and water resources teams.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and support construction administration activities.
• Participate in client meetings and stakeholder coordination.
