Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, Utah, seeks a Staff Logistics Engineer (level 5) to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead logistics analyses, coordinate across functions, and ensure sustainment readiness for high-profile DoD programs.

You will define parts, perform trade studies, and prepare technical briefings for internal and customer meetings, while contributing to proposals and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 12+ years, or Master's with 10+, or PhD with 8+.
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance within scope.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret and SAP approvals.
• 4 years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and product data sheets for electrical components.
• 4 years of experience identifying maintenance requirements, determining spares, tools, and manpower.

Responsibilities

• Perform Logistics Product Support Analyses to define parts, equipment, skills, and activities required for system sustainment and operational availability.
• Lead Level of Repair (LOR) and Logistics Support Analyses for the program.
• Collect, track, and analyze usage rates, maintenance trends, inventory levels, and reliability data to inform sustainment decisions.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to exchange data, define calibration needs, and support field requirements.
• Prepare and present technical information, analyses, and recommendations in internal and customer meetings.
• Manage repair reporting, supplier liaison, and outcomes for customer-initiated repairs.
• Contribute to proposal development and cost estimating for logistics support.
• Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-1388 and MIL-HDBK-502.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Logistics Engineer (level 5) to join the team. This opportunity is in Roy, Utah.

What you will get to do:

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Perform Logistics Product Support Analyses to define parts, equipment, skills, and activities required for system sustainment and operational availability.
• Conduct trade studies and develop sustainment strategies that minimize logistics footprint while meeting performance requirements.
• Lead Level of Repair (LOR) and Logistics Support Analyses for the SLCM-N program.
• Collect, track, and analyze usage rates, maintenance trends, inventory levels, and reliability data to inform sustainment decisions.
• Identify maintenance issues, recommend process improvements, and define maintenance objectives and requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to exchange data, define calibration needs, and support field support requirements.
• Prepare and present technical information, analyses, and recommendations in internal and customer meetings.
• Manage repair reporting, supplier liaison, and outcomes for customer-initiated repairs.
• Contribute to proposal development and cost estimating for logistics support.
• Ensure compliance with applicable military logistics standards and documentation (e.g., MIL-STD-1388, MIL-HDBK-502).
• Lead development of a product support plan demonstrating solutions for all 12 IPS elements

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 12 years of experience; or master's degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• Must have the ability to obtain both Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
• 4 years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and product data sheets for electrical components.
• 4 years of experience identifying scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements, determining associated spares, tools, calibration, and manpower, and understand repair processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
• Familiarity with Mil-STD-1388 type work products.
• Experience developing logistics work products on Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
• Knowledge of Integrated Product Support analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-1388, MIL-HDBK-502, or TA-STD-0017.
• Proficiency with logistics product database tools such as EAGLE, SLICWave, PowerLogJ, or comparable software.
