Job summary

Omnissa invites a Senior Java Developer to help architect and evolve our cloud-native Horizon Cloud Services platform. You will own end‑to‑end design decisions, mentor engineers, and shape the technical roadmap for scalable microservices in a globally distributed team.

The role requires deep Java/J2EE, Python, and JavaScript expertise, plus experience with Spring Boot and Kubernetes. Mountain View, CA, hybrid work, and a competitive compensation package are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of extensive experience in multithreaded, distributed application development.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in Java/J2EE, Python, JavaScript, and REST API design.
• Strong background designing and building large-scale distributed systems and microservices (Spring Boot, Kubernetes).
• Proven experience architecting subsystems or services with broad, cross-product impact.
• Knowledge of UML, software architectural style, OOAD, and J2EE design patterns.
• Experience developing solutions that make architecture and microservices highly scalable, resilient, maintainable, and secure.
• Demonstrated technical leadership — driving design/code reviews, mentoring engineers, and influencing technical direction across teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work across geographically distributed teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud service components for Horizon Cloud Services and next‑generation architecture using Azure/AWS platforms.
• Develop solutions to make architecture and microservices scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable.
• Apply expertise in Python, Windows programming, Java/J2EE, OO design, and open‑source tech to build components.
• Work in an agile environment, applying scrum practices and engineering best practices.
• Define the technical roadmap with product management and other teams; guide teams to deliver complex features.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align requirements and ensure security and performance.
