Job summary

Deel is hiring a Staff Engineer for the US Payroll team, helping steer the architectural evolution to support enterprise-scale customers and our EOR/PEO ecosystem. You will act as a principal technical advisor and partner closely with the Director of Engineering to shape architecture and engineering excellence.

You will lead efforts to remove bottlenecks, design robust frameworks for global scale, and set high standards to keep systems healthy as we grow.

Qualifications

• Extensive engineering foundation with 10+ years in software engineering.
• Proven leadership experience in organizations with 30+ engineers.
• Architecture mastery and system design excellence.
• Strong communication and mentorship capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Strategic technical leadership: guide architecture, design, and reviews for key initiatives.
• Operational excellence: implement engineering best practices, improve velocity and quality.
• Mentorship: grow senior engineers and define career development standards.
