Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Professional registration/license to practice engineering.
• Five+ years of experience in construction, building code development/enforcement, or product testing.
• Experience with modern design and construction methods and materials.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates test reports, calculations, and other technical data submitted by evaluation-report applicants.
• Develops technical criteria for the acceptance of innovative building products and methods.
• Prepares correspondence and draft reports regarding code compliance of products.
• Provides expert assistance to building departments nationwide.
• Participates in ICC-ES Evaluation Committee hearings.
