Job summary

International Code Council (ICC) is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to evaluate building product code compliance, develop evaluation criteria, and prepare formal reports. This role collaborates with clients, officials, and industry partners to advance innovative construction methods.

The position requires a civil engineering degree with seismic design knowledge and a CA-licensed structural engineer preference.

Qualifications

• University degree in civil engineering
• Professional registration/license as structural engineer (preferred in CA)
• Experience with seismic design and structural design or product testing
• 5+ years in construction industry or code development/enforcement
• Experience with structural design and construction methods/materials

Responsibilities

• Evaluate test reports, calculations, and data for evaluation reports.
• Develop technical criteria for acceptance of building products and methods.
• Prepare correspondence and drafts of evaluation reports.
• Provide expert assistance to building departments nationwide.
• Participate in ICC-ES Evaluation Committee hearings.
• Represent ICC-ES at meetings with government and industry.
