Qualifications

  • Requires STEM degree and 12+ years engineering experience, or 10+ with a Master’s, or 9+ with a Ph.D.
  • Active Secret clearance in-scope with ability to obtain Top Secret.
  • Experience with avionics systems integration and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CAM duties and manage program cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
  • Coordinate with IPT leadership for program success and customer reviews.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to customers and stakeholders.
  • Integrate avionics subsystems to meet mission objectives.
  • Manage supplier evaluations and technical interchange meetings.
  • Lead teams through product definition and implementation.

Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Staff Engineer Electronics to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This onsite position is in Melbourne, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Control Account Management (CAM) duties
  • Coordinate with technical leadership in a cross functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule, and technical objectives
  • Serve as DOA for programmatic and technical meetings, presentations, and reviews
  • Drive to completion Avionics preparation for SETR events with the customer
  • Develop and deliver presentations to customers, management, and other program stakeholders
  • Interpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architecture
  • Analyze/Review Trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings
  • Manage completion of document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to ensure effective integration of avionics subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
  • Building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
  • Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Master’s degree from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years) with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Integration and testing of aircraft flight deck/mission Avionics systems and components including Position, Navigation, and Timing, Flight Displays & Controls, and other various avionics systems
  • Demonstrated experience with supplier/subcontract management, working on a multidisciplinary team and/or writing technical proposals
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems
  • Experience in COTS / MIL-COTS hardware functional design and performance analysis
  • Experience with trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) regarding supplier current and future products offerings
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, JIRA, Confluence, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels.
  • Experience leading/guiding teams through product definition and implementation
  • Experience communicating with and presenting to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated proposal, budget & scheduling proficiency and business acumen
  • Experience collaborating on large interdisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Master’s or Ph.D Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or a Master's in Business Administration
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Pilot Certification (Commercial, Test Pilot school graduate)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  • Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
  • Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
