Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to own the design of a new battery pack from concept through production. You will drive performance, optimize size and weight, and shape reliability for production handoff.

The role requires hands-on prototyping, testing, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. With a focus on CAD modeling, manufacturing processes, and a battery product delivered to market, you will mentor teammates and lead architecture decisions in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering a battery product to market is required.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, thermal design, and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Own design responsibility of a new battery pack from concept through production.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Own design responsibility of a new battery pack, from concept through production
• Drive optimal performance while managing size, weight, manufacturing, and reliability
• Hands-on prototyping, testing, qualification, and handoff to production
• Define requirements, specifications, assembly drawings, 2D drawings
• Root cause failures and production problems
• Drive a cross-functional team to execute the top-level architecture
• Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience
• Strong technical fundamentals in mechanics, thermal design, and electronics
• Have designed and delivered a battery product to market before
• Proficiency in CAD modeling
• Experience with various manufacturing processes
